Karl Arao is an OCP-DBA, RHCE, Oracle ACE, and a proud member of the OakTable network. He works for Enkitec as a Senior Technical Consultant where he currently spends most of his time exploring on Exadata capacity planning and performance. Prior to that, Karl went to work for SQL*Wizard as a Solutions Architect and an R&D guy where he had his five years of solid DBA experience. He shares his experiences, adventures, and discoveries in his blog (karlarao.wordpress.com), he tweets at @karlarao, and owns a Wiki site (karlarao.tiddlyspot.com) where he shares his quick guides and documentations on technologies. He presents at local Oracle Events and DBA round tables, and has also presented at Oracle Open World Unconference, Oracle Closed World, OakTable World, Enkitec Extreme Exadata Expo, Virtathon, RMOUG, and Hotsos. In his spare time, he loves to mine the ASH and AWR and do adventure sports like underwater hockey, mountaineering, and mountain biking.

Martin is a Principal Consultant at Enkitec and author. He specialised in the Oracle DBMS since 2001, with his main interests in high availability and disaster recovery solutions for mission critical 24x7 systems. Over the last years he spent more and more time discovering the benefits of virtualisation technologies for Oracle products, mainly by using VMWare ESX Server and Oracle VM/Xen-based virtualisation. As of December 2008 Martin is a proud member of the Oracle Certified Master community having successfully passed the exam for Database 10g Release 2. When not trying to get the best out of the Oracle database for his clients, or working on understanding its internals, Martin can be found presenting or attending Oracle user group meetings meetings, mainly in the UK. In the remaining spare time, Martin contributes to the Oracle Scene and DOAG news, the UK and German Oracle User Group publications as well as the iX magazine which is read by over 50 000 people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

He is also the co-author of “Pro Oracle Database 11g RAC on Linux,” and author of “Expert Consolidation in Oracle Database 12c.“

Andy launched his IT career in the late 1990s at an Oracle-centric company based in Dallas called Database Consultants (later renamed ThinkSpark). This provided the baseline for Andy’s technical pursuits, working with Solaris, Linux, Windows and various networking technologies.

After leaving ThinkSpark in 2004 he consulted for a few years, then in 2006 rejoined Database Consultants’ Founder, Kerry Osborne, at Enkitec. Since then he’s become an expert consultant in the Oracle technology stack, including Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance, RAC, Oracle Application Server (OHS and WebLogic), DataGuard, and Oracle Application Server products such as Oracle Enterprise Manager. He’s also specialized in ASM, Linux and Solaris. Colvin is a Certified Associate in Oracle Enterprise Linux Administrator.

Bobby L. Curtis, is an Oracle ACE with 18 years of experience in the information technology field.  He specializes in database monitoring, data integration technologies, and database consolidation efforts aimed at making usability simpler and easier.  Currently, he is working as a Senior Technical Consultant for Enkitec, focused on implementations and migrations of scalable databases solutions while providing monitoring for these environments.   Bobby is a current member of various Oracle User groups to include IOUG, ODTUG, and GOUSER and on the board of directors for RMOUG. Bobby currently resides in Douglasville, Ga with his wife and 3 children.

Tim Fox has been working with the Oracle database for over 20 years, starting with version 5 in 1989. Since joining Enkitec in 2005, Tim has worked with hundreds of clients. His strong development background combined with his database skills make him an excellent resource for solving difficult performance related problems. In 2010, Tim became heavily involved with Oracle’s Exadata Database Machine and he has been involved in numerous implementations. Tim has been a proponent of Oracle Application Express for many years. Doug Gault is the APEX Practice Director at Enkitec™, a world-class Oracle®  consulting, training & solutions firm.  He has been working with Oracle since 1988 starting with version 5.1B, SQL*Forms 2.0 and RPT/RPF. Since then he has focused his career on Oracle's development technologies, spending the last decade on web based technologies, and the last several years specifically on APEX.

Prior to joining Enkitec,  Doug co-founded Sumneva, which focused on Oracle APEX consulting, training & solutions, and was the Product Development Director for Hotsos Enterprises focusing on commercial products developed in APEX.  His 20+ years of Oracle experience has taken him all over the world and involved him in some truly ground-breaking projects.

Doug has presented and participated in round table discussions at a number of conferences including Oracle OpenWorld, UKOUG and ODTUG's APEXposed and Kaleidoscope conferences .  He holds an Associates Degree in Computer Science, and an honorary Master's Degree from The School of Hard Knocks, believing there is no replacement for hard earned experience.

He actively contributes to the Oracle community, especially in Oracle Forums. In 2009, he received an Oracle ACE award from the Oracle Technology Network and a year later became an Oracle ACE Director. In 2010, he joined the OakTable Network. In addition to developing his Oracle expertise, Frits works with MySQL, PostgreSQL and modern operating systems.

Randy Johnson

Randy Johnson is a principal consultant at Enkitec. He is co-author of the book “Expert Oracle Exadata” and holds certifications in Oracle RAC, and Exadata Implementation. Johnson has 20 years of experience with Oracle beginning with Oracle 7 back in the early 90’s.

Much of his career has combined database administration with Unix Administration duties. Until recently Randy' primary areas of interest have been Oracle RAC, ASM and database backup and recovery. But that changed when Enkitec purchased an Exadata V2 system for their lab.

For the last three years his attention has been focused exclusively on Exadata, including seven implementations and dozens of database migrations.

Cary Millsap is a teacher, consultant, writer, software technology advisor, software designer and developer, and Oracle software performance specialist. His technical work is quoted in many Oracle books, Wikipedia, blogs, and conference presentations each year. He has presented at hundreds of public and private events around the world, and his blog is read by thousands of subscribers.

He is published in journals including Communications of the ACM. He co-authored the book Optimizing Oracle Performance, for which he and co-author Jeff Holt were named Oracle Magazine's 2004 Authors of the Year, and he is the author of The Method R Guide to Mastering Oracle Trace Data. He founded Method R Corporation, a company that provides software tools and education services to firms including Fortune 100 companies. Rick is a Senior Tech Consultant with Enkitec and has worked with Oracle Databases since the late 90s starting out as a SQL and PL/SQL developer before quickly becoming a DBA.  Most of his career has been a combination of OLTP and DSS databases, RAC, performance and tuning, and various system administration duties.

More recently, he has done several migrations to Exadata via GoldenGate, over two years of production support on Exadata, and many other replication solutions using GoldenGate.

For more than 25 years, Karen has worked in information technology starting out as a mainframe programmer, developer, DBA, data architect, author, researcher, educator and consultant. Having used Oracle since the early ’90s, she began teaching others how to use Oracle over a decade ago.  Today she is focused primarily on Oracle performance optimization, particularly in the areas of SQL tuning and understanding the Oracle optimizer.

Karen's years of experience have meshed well into optimizing applications running on the Exadata platform. Her deep knowledge of how SQL works and how Exadata features require a change in approach to many optimization efforts allows her to understand what to do and when to do it regardless of whether the environment is Exadata or non-Exadata.

Karen is the co-author of three books from Apress: Beginning Oracle SQL, Expert Oracle Practices: Database Administration from the Oak Table and Pro Oracle SQL.  She's a frequent speaker at conferences and user groups, a member of the OakTable Network, and an Oracle ACE.

Scott Spendolini is executive director at Enkitec, a world-class Oracle® services, education & solutions firm founded in 2004.  He has assisted a number of clients from various verticals with their Oracle APEX development and training needs. Spendolini has presented at a number of Oracle-related conferences, including Oracle OpenWorld, ODTUG, and IOUG and is a regular contributor to the Oracle APEX Forums on OTN.  He is a recipient of the Oracle Ace Director designation and is also a co-author of the book Pro Oracle Application Express.  In 2009, Spendolini along with ODTUG was presented with the Oracle Innovation Award for his work on ODTUG’s public web site, odtug.com.  Spendolini is also an Oracle Certified Oracle Application Express developer.
