Jason Arneil

Jason has been in IT as a Database and Systems Administrator for some 16 years and has worked exclusively with the Exadata platform for the last 3 1/2 years. Jason has a range of Exadata experience across a broad range of industries, including finance, retail and online web transaction systems. Martin Bach

Martin is a Principal Consultant at Accenture Enkitec Group and author. He specialised in the Oracle DBMS since 2001, with his main interests in high availability and disaster recovery solutions for mission critical 24x7 systems. Over the last years he spent more and more time discovering the benefits of virtualisation technologies for Oracle products, mainly by using VMWare ESX Server and Oracle VM/Xen-based virtualisation. As of December 2008 Martin is a proud member of the Oracle Certified Master community having successfully passed the exam for Database 10g Release 2. When not trying to get the best out of the Oracle database for his clients, or working on understanding its internals, Martin can be found presenting or attending Oracle user group meetings meetings, mainly in the UK. In the remaining spare time, Martin contributes to the Oracle Scene and DOAG news, the UK and German Oracle User Group publications as well as the iX magazine which is read by over 50 000 people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

He is also the co-author of “Pro Oracle Database 11g RAC on Linux,” and author of “Expert Consolidation in Oracle Database 12c.“

Danny Bryant

Danny, an Oracle Ace, is a twelve year veteran of Public Sector IT, supported various aspects of the city’s Oracle ecosystem including ERP and OBIA. He remains active in the Oracle community through his blog and by regularly speaking at conferences such as KScope, OOW, ECO,and GLOC. He also serves on the KScope Conference Planning Committee and  as Treasurer for the Georgia Oracle User Group Board of Directors. He is a lifetime member of The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and was an Adjunct Instructor with the Oracle Academy, teaching SQL and Data Modeling throughout the U.S. and Europe. In his free time, he SCUBA dives, trains in the martial arts of Jun Fan Gung Fu (JKD) and Capoeira with his son. Andy Colvin

Andy launched his IT career in the late 1990s at an Oracle-centric company based in Dallas called Database Consultants (later renamed ThinkSpark). This provided the baseline for Andy’s technical pursuits, working with Solaris, Linux, Windows and various networking technologies.

After leaving ThinkSpark in 2004 he consulted for a few years, then in 2006 rejoined Database Consultants’ Founder, Kerry Osborne, at Accenture Enkitec Group. Since then he’s become an expert consultant in the Oracle technology stack, including Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance, RAC, Oracle Application Server (OHS and WebLogic), DataGuard, and Oracle Application Server products such as Oracle Enterprise Manager. Frits Hoogland

As an IT professional specializing in Oracle database performance and internals, Frits Hoogland frequently presents Oracle technical presentations in the Netherlands, UK, Denmark, Slovenia and the United States. He actively contributes to the Oracle community, especially in Oracle Forums. In 2009, he received an Oracle ACE award from the Oracle Technology Network and a year later became an Oracle ACE Director. In 2010, he joined the OakTable Network. In addition to developing his Oracle expertise, Frits works with MySQL, PostgreSQL and modern operating systems.

Randy Johnson

Randy Johnson is a principal consultant at Accenture Enkitec Group. He is co-author of the book “Expert Oracle Exadata” and holds certifications in Oracle RAC, and Exadata Implementation. Johnson has 20 years of experience with Oracle beginning with Oracle 7 back in the early 90’s.

Much of his career has combined database administration with Unix Administration duties. Until recently Randy' primary areas of interest have been Oracle RAC, ASM and database backup and recovery. But that changed when Accenture Enkitec Group purchased an Exadata V2 system for their lab.

For the last three years his attention has been focused exclusively on Exadata, including seven implementations and dozens of database migrations.

David Kurtz

David is a consultant specializing in system performance tuning.  He started to working with the Oracle database in 1989 as a developer. He is known as an expert in the PeopleSoft field.
Prior to joining Accenture Enkitec Group, he worked for PeopleSoft UK and then for 15 years worked as an independent consultant providing performance consultancy, mostly to PeopleSoft customers.
He is the author of PeopleSoft for the Oracle DBA and blogs about PeopleSoft & Oracle.
He has been involved with the UK Oracle User Group (UKOUG) for many years, presenting regularly at meetings and conferences. He formerly served as a UKOUG SIG chair and then director.  He is an Oracle ACE Director and member of the Oak Table.

Cary Millsap is a teacher, consultant, writer, software technology advisor, software designer and developer, and Oracle software performance specialist. For more than 25 years, Karen worked in information technology starting out as a mainframe programmer, developer, DBA, data architect, author, researcher, educator and consultant. Having used Oracle since the early ’90s, she began teaching others how to use Oracle over a decade ago.  She focused primarily on Oracle performance optimization, particularly in the areas of SQL tuning and understanding the Oracle optimizer.

Karen's years of experience meshed well into optimizing applications running on the Exadata platform. Her deep knowledge of how SQL works and how Exadata features require a change in approach to many optimization efforts allowed her to understand what to do and when to do it regardless of whether the environment is Exadata or non-Exadata.

Karen co-authored three books from Apress: Beginning Oracle SQL, Expert Oracle Practices: Database Administration from the Oak Table and Pro Oracle SQL.  She was a frequent speaker at conferences and user groups, a member of the OakTable Network, and an Oracle ACE.
